AstraZeneca Expands Manufacturing Facility in Coppell, TX

AstraZeneca has announced a newly-expanded manufacturing facility in Coppell, Texas, which will double the production of Lokelma for the benefit of patients in the U.S. and around the world.

The $445 million investment to expand the facility is part of AstraZeneca’s $50 billion investment in U.S. R&D and manufacturing over the next five years.

The expansion underscores our commitment to patients and support for Texas’ long-term vision for scientific growth and innovation.”

AstraZeneca’s Coppell facility is the sole global manufacturing facility of Lokelma to more than 50 countries around the world. The facility employs more than 250 people. Through the expansion and development of a new 9,000 square foot building, two novel manufacturing lines will be added along with enhancements to support drug substance and drug product laboratory testing, warehousing, additional manufacturing utilities and administrative space.
